Welcome to our new blog!

Welcome to our new blog!

Passage is now going to keep up a blog so our clients are friends can see what we're up to on the regular.

Check back often! For now, here's a quick look at how some cover-ups can look in progress. This is Angela's leg (Lizzie is doing the cover-up) after the first couple of hours of work. We're taking the little blonde out of the picture and adding some cool buildings and fighter jets.

...this is my work today, obviously in progress. Jon's getting a 3/4 sleeve of St. Peter, angels and demons.

...another work in progress on Mike.

Check back soon.

So this is how I've been tackling Jessica's coverup on her left arm.

So this is how I've been tackling Jessica's coverup on her left arm.

Steph has been working on a cover up for her lower back for a better part of the summer. The "before" picture was taken when her original tattoo was done years back. Another friend took a picture for her after our first sit. I don't usually like to leave just the outline over the old tattoo but we didn't have much choice.

And here it is after the cover-up sit (obviously we still have more to go):

Chas stopped by last night and got a quick little diamond ring to fill his forearm up. The other tattoos are from Bryan (now at Tattoo Zoo in Victoria) and Lizzie.

Our friend Liam from the Cancer Bats stopped by before heading back out on tour to get some work done. Apologies for the bad picture.

Lots of new work!

Lots of new work!

This may very well be one of my favourite tattoos of the moment -- it was really hard! Matt had been told by a few other artists that this was considered an "impossible" tattoo. All it needed was a little careful planning, though. This took about 2 1/2 hours.

This is Rachelle's new chest piece. She took it like a champ.

Kate came in a few weeks ago (which is a pretty regular event) and we did some really neat roses on her arm.

Cute!

Cute!

Colleen came up from Windsor to get a little more cutesy pootsy work on her arm. It's been a really fun tattoo so far. More to come.

Fun!

Fun!

Quick little 10 minute jobber on Liam by Lizzie.

I had some tattoos "up for grabs" that I drew in my spare time and Harry came in yesterday to get one done. The cyrillics (it's Russian) translate to "order." Nice addition to some already religious-themed artwork he's got on his arm.

Quick Update

Quick Update

My buddy Liam came in today and asked me to do a 70s style rotary phone upside down on the back of his arm. Obviously I obliged such an amazing idea (talk about fun imagery to tattoo) but endorsed it further when he explained that it's to always be sure he's "permanently off the hook."

Long Time No Bloggerz!

Long Time No Bloggerz!

We are B-U-S-Y! Sorry for the long time between sweet blogs!

For now, Check out Amy's cute little friend, Caribou!

ALSO! Passage t-shirts are coming, and we hope before Christmas! Printed on American Apparel summer tees, sizes XS - L, with 4 different designs from Tyson and Lizzie.

Paper Cranes / vines

Paper Cranes / vines

Anita was in today and got this pretty outline started on her back. She came to Lizzie asking for vines, stars and paper cranes and even left us with handfuls of folded birds. Click the thumbnails for the larger versions:

Once this heals up, she'll be back for colour. Usually, 2 weeks between tattoo sittings is fine.

Bye Bye Karlyn!

Bye Bye Karlyn!

The staff of Passage would like to wish Karlyn all the best on her last day here at the shop. Karlyn has kept the shop running and kept us all sane for years, and we will miss her 'chipper' face in the mornings. Cyber high fives!

Make sure to say hello to Kate, the new desk manager, on your next visit!

Maddie came in today for a 3 hour sit to start her half sleeve. On her next sit, we'll line in all the patterns on the fabric in her kerchief and the fan.

...and then Larry came in and got probably the most awesome belly rocker EVER.

2 HoursTattoing

Steve had a consultation about 2 weeks ago to put a Polynesian-inspired design on his right hand. Although we tried, we couldn't finish the whole thing, but came pretty close. Here's the results of 2 hours drawing, and 2 hours tattooing (click to enlarge).

Anita's appointment directly followed, and we finished the paper cranes and vines that she had started with Lizzie about 3 weeks ago.

...and here's the little cranes she brought us!

Maneki Neko!

Maneki Neko!

Colin came in and had this non-traditional maneki neko, or 'lucky cat' done on his shin. It took about 3 hours. He wasn't sure as to what to put in the coin, so it was left blank. That way, the entire coin and emblem put on to it can be shaded at once to match the rest of the cat.

This is for Jordi's foot. Her sit was about 4 hours of tattooing and an hour of prep time. Feet can be a hard spot to be tattooed, but she took it like a champ and was barely swollen for the photos.

In the same day, Steph and Amy came in to have matching tattoos on their wrists. Both were the same but this one is Amy's. They wanted a small locket, and this was about the smallest we could get it done at.

Before Holidays, Lizzie and Tyson had a fun tattoo appointment: here are Tyson's cool new knuckle tattoos:

And last but certainly not least, Craig was in as Lizzie's official last tattoo for 2007 and it was a doozy. He'll be back for about 2 - 3 more sittings for the colour.

All the best for your holidays from the Passage staff. Have a safe and happy time whatever your celebrations may be.
